With My Pen PoisedA Poem by Beatrice Mars
I've got a bad
Song on repeat And I'm standing at The window singing it, Wishing I was in a cheesy T.V show. (Because then I'd have an excuse.) But I can't bring myself (Around) To care because I'm watching the snow With my pen poised Ready to write romantic words About its angry Swirling, The way it seems to Slow down and speed up In time with the song. But nothing I come up with Can keep up. It's like a spoilt child (on the) Or the sea. Or Hiccups, It can't make its mind up, Snow flakes collide in mid air, I can't see how They could ever calm enough to land, But somehow it's settling. Although I can see lights on, No one else is looking out their windows, So it can't be snowing for them. Can it? © 2010 Beatrice MarsAuthor's Note
