At leastA Poem by Beatrice MarsI am me,
And your approval
Isn't needed.
You might have nice
Hair,
But I'd rather have
My body.
And though they aren't yours,
I'd rather have
My friends.
(Because they aren't yours.)
You might have nice
Clothes,
But I'd rather
Not look like you.
(And everybody else.)
You might have lots
Of money,
But I'd rather have my life.
I might like bad
Music,
But at least I'm
Not listening to the
Same thing
I was when I was
13.
(At least I'm not,
Dancing the same
Dance,
Over and over,
Again and again)
I might be me,
But at least I'm not you.
