Stoned PowerA Poem by Beatrice MarsI've seen your
Clever cover up,
But
(I still see
The bags
Under your eyes.)
I'm the one
In charge now.
And I see
Why you had
That baby,
The benefits
And media money.
I'm gonna take it
Away.
('Cause I can.)
(Bet you make a
Fortune out of this.)
Despite what he
Says I know we're
Both good.
But I know
Who's better
Look who's
(Left holding the baby.)
The one with all the
Power.
I'm the one with
The pull now,
So when I see,
You in the street,
I Shout
(To all.)
Consumer,
Go,
Buy Darkness.
Fill your petty lives.
And if you can't afford it,
Here,
Have some of
Mine.
There's plenty to go
Around.
(See how kind I am.)
So hail me,
While I Sit on my
Throne
All lovely and stoned.
(All the hail
Comes crashing
Down.)
And see
How
(Weird
Wired
I Am?)
They praise me
While I sit on
My throne
(That comes crashing down.)
With rocks around my neck.
So now I'm walking
The streets,
(Street Walker.)
In the rain,
That crashes (down.
From grace.)
With your baby,
Who is a child now.
I look across
The road
And there you are,
With a man by your
Side,
All dressed up
And a
Diamond
On your Finger.
(
Rocks all over you.)
You don't recognise
Your baby.
And I wonder
How
(You got there)
The world works.
I'm not sure who's in charge now.
(I didn't pay my T.V licence.)
