Just like you

Just like you

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

She
(Mummy)
Tries to dissuade
(You)
But she just
Manages
To make
The images in
Your
Head better
(Before you forget them)

Better than you know,
Better you don't know
(Granny)

You gotta get coffee
Now
With that woman
(Your mummy)
That you like
Not as much
As everybody else.
(Your mummy was right,
She aint no beauty)

She's blonde
And
Tall
(Just like your sister)
(So)
And
You suggest a meal.

But then it's
(Her)
Back
To yours
For coffee
And more
(Your pain
Screaming for your Mummy)

After a few weeks
She's living in your
(Mind)
Apartment
Making you dinner
(Like your mummy)
You tell her
"It was love at first sight"

If only

It's
Better than you know,
Better you don't know
(Granny)

But then she tells you
She's leaving
But you won't let her
You just want her
To feel
The same pain
(Just like you)
Screaming for her mummy
(Just like you)
