The Colours that you smell

The Colours that you smell

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

But the lights
would put
you
on the spot.
And you don't like being
centre of attention
(Do you (?))

And in the darkness
that is
absolute
the stars shine.

And my fear
is of

(The darkness that is yours)
following my footsteps
(for they lead away from you)
and darling
you can see further
than this
(than now)
(Can't you (?))

(This is my hand)

I hope there is no

Cure

(For the darkness)

For you are warm

When

I am Cold.

You are the darkness

In my world

Of

(Blinding) light.

So let’s go further

Than before.

Show me

Darling,

(Tell me) that it is possible

(Darling I'd say,

I wish I didn't have to lie to you.

But that would be lying

And lying, darling, is wrong)

So show me darling

What you

Saw before

And you

Can’t see now,

So I'll lie

And tell you how

It's changed.

(Because I can't see it either)

And when you ask

I'll tell you about

The colours that you smell

And the sun that’s burning your skin.

(But I'll be lying, because I can't feel it either.)

I LOVE THIS FORMAT.
This poem is great
I love this stanza:

"And in the darkness
that is
absolute
the stars shine."

It's so...I don't even know how to describe it.
I just love the entire poem, it's like a song to me.
Great job on this.
