I'd Kill(ed) you

I'd Kill(ed) you

A Poem by Beatrice Mars
"

Things just got messier

"

I tried to brush my
teeth,
but they just got
yellower.

I tried to wash my
hands,
but they just got
dirtier.

I shot you
but things just got
messier.

(Your blood
on my hands,
I tried to wash it off,
but your hatred
just stung my
cuts.)

I tried to comb my
hair,
but
there were always
knots.

I tried to close
the curtains,
but
I just saw you
more clearly.

I tried to sprinkle glitter
(over your dead body)
but,
it just got
duller.

I tried to turn the
heating up,
but,
it just kept getting
colder.

And I tried to jump
higher,
but,
I just kept
sinking.

And I threw your
body away,
but I could not
find an ending,
(until I swore that)
I'd kill(ed) you.
(but you were
already dead.)

This is... amazing Bethan. Definitely one of your best. Vivid imagery is created and the words flow so well. The meaning of the poem shows and it's just... it's really good *adds to favourites*
