Common Phobia

Common Phobia

A Poem by Beatrice Mars
"

Sorry Kid

"

(They Don't) Turn on the light so you can't see
(They)         Turn the light off so you can forget
(So you can't see the light on the ceiling)
                  (Help you to Sleep)
You Are Imagining what you can't see
(Clothes on the floor
Monster under the bed)
                  Pictures on the wall
                  Fill in their shapes
(they)          Turned off the light

I'm sorry kid
These are Common Phobias
That will not go away
(Monster under the bed)
Sorry kid
The Monster's Don't go away
They just change

Gaping
Darkness
Can't really be that big
I've seen it in the light
I know what it's like
but that doesn't matter
it's rushing towards me
don't know what's
in the
Gaping
Darkness
(Sorry Kid)

   Bars of a Cage
   Eyes of a
Monster
   (Under my Bed)
   Hands Crawling
   to find me)
I do not Know
How to Describe
My Face at this moment

Will you
come
Trace
My features
with your
fingers
tell me what’s there
I can't see
(Because of the darkness)

Tell me what’s Happening
describe the events
(I can feel the heat on my skin
but I can't see
The sun)
I do not know
What is going
on

Monster's under the bed
(My common Phobia's)
They are yours
for you to tell me
(about)
(Sorry Kid)
Give me my fear
