Impounding Nothingness

Impounding Nothingness

A Poem by Beatrice Mars
"

For you there are no shapes in the impounding nothingness. And yet I pity you still

"

Impounding Nothingness

Roses on the wind

the things that make the music that you can't really hear.

You can't see them

  (the darkness)

Stars in the Sky

Moon shines so bright

You can't see them

   (the darkness)

The blindness is like a piece of cloth across your eyes,

but it is so much worse

because the blindfold will never be lifted

The blackness has been imprinted upon you forever

or it could be a terrible brightness

it makes no difference

for you there are

no

shapes

in

the

impounding

nothingness

You with your dark eyes

you will never get to see the green grass

Or a child’s smile

or a dancing couple

or the light of the sun

you will never get to see so many things

and I pity you so

You with you dark eyes

you will never have to see the horrors of war

or a tortured child

or a starved animal

or the inside of a cell

you will never have to see so many things

and I envy you so

and yet I pity you still
