Attention?

Look at how much attention we pay
To stuff that won't matter tomorrow or any other day
Posters and TV
make us forget how to eat
Cuts on our wrists
Million little slits
But why?
Do we pay so much attention on how we're gonna die
Like our generation
Is in need of a large vacation
To escape what we put ourselves in
The urge for attention which comes from within
If only
We could stop being so lonely
But how?
Do we allow
The idea of letting go
Of the attention that we seem to follow
The truth is this need for attention
Is leading everyone through a Great Depression
