Being a Parent

Being a Parent

A Poem by Bear Y'hoshua
"

Sentiments I think any parents would understand...with a pic of my older two children when they were younger.

"

Being a parent isn’t a cakewalk.

It’s being a CEO, trying to make right decisions,

and being captain of the offense, trying to lead players in the right direction.

A parent is someone’s soldier,

their hero

and protector.

A parent is a cat-herder

trying their best to get children

to focus on a task.

A parent is someone’s accountant,

because it is, after all, their money;

you’re just holding on to it… for now.

And a parent is someone’s first audience,

there to laugh with them

(or at them)

as they follow

the comedic path

called life.
