TRAPPED SOULA Poem by BearJust a child that life has treated so unfair Seemingly to the world without a care But the truth lies behind the expressive eyes They reveal the trapped soul's unheard cries A prisoner of mind disjointed from body Unable to express fascination or fear Consumed with thoughts the world will never hear Driven on by an unmeasurable passion To find understanding that appears in short ration Each day's challenge a seemingly impossible task With emotions shrouded behind an uncooperative mask But the eyes seem to say it all The only way out of this impenetrable mental wall They speak of understanding compassion and need And prayers for direction the answers might lead A prisoner in a world unto themselves Forgiven or forgotten a responsibility of us all To break the barrier and bring down the mental wall Bear © 2017 BearAuthor's Note
