LAST THOUGHT

LAST THOUGHT

A Poem by Bear

Time passes while I stand still
Preserved in time by how I feel
Balanced on the edge of the grim reaper's blade
Fearing life's debts I've left unpaid
The winds of time blow through my mind
Reliving every memory there to find
My life flashes before my eyes
Separating me from all earthly ties
Life fades while on this deathbed I lay
To wait for the winds to blow me away
From ashes to ashes and dust to dust
So is the end of life I trust

Well, I think many of us have felt that feeling of balancing on the grim reaper's blade. I think your poem says it well. There are some evocative words which paint a clear picture. But life goes on, so until we really are blown away by the winds, keep writing poetry!
