This life won't let the dreamer have his dreams It wakes him from the nightmare to his own screams Fading into nonexistence the saying until death do we part Selfish souls unwilling to give from the heart The security of a full-time life long job In a world looking for ways to profit off the working slob Their own home impossible not because of supply or demand But a price to own and maintain that very few can stand Even health costs the ill often more than they own So death becomes an expense our children will atone Weekly wages less than it costs a person to live Insurance, license, taxes and more to which we must give Alcoholic drinks, drugs, and suicide all nightmarish ends Nowhere to turn in the same position are our friends A blind or selfish government out for its self it seems Is it any wonder why the dreamer screams Bear
I leave most punctuation to the reader that they can read the poem in their own meter, mood, and motility. I thank you for taking the time to read my work.

I realistic look at life, currently. The rhymes, job, slob, seem a bit unfair to those who actually manage to get a job. Perhaps, "mob", or "those they rob". But otherwise I thought the rhyming was unstilted and fun. I think we should all record our screams and send the tapes to the powers that be. I enjoyed you poem.

"so death becomes an expense our children will atone"
this had a double sided meaning to me and probably obvious to most. When you lose your parents they leave you everything both physically and spiritually. You become the most prominent version of them left on this world an inherit what they did or did not do over the course of their lives. Great piece, i enjoyed it.

Thank you for the great review, I will gladly return the read and review favor soon :~)
Great poem, I felt every point made and I'm sure it resonated with all others who read it. I particularly like the resolution at the end, I don't see that very often in poems lately.
Thank you for the impressive review, I shall gladly return the read and review favor.

Poets are not much better, for every 20 who read your work one may bother to leave a comment it is sad to say. With time and luck your work will win a following :~)
A poem filled with different emotions and humor to top it off Bear!
You balanced everything so well, it was really clear and I enjoyed reading this, as you also added reality!
Well done, keep it up!!
