His battle is over, we now lay him to rest A fallen warrior who has given his best His pride and praises we cast upon the wind That they will forever speak of him as departed friend Of Lakota blood, a proud and passionate Sioux A brave and trusting man who's heart was true We honor his spirit in remembrance his name And vow to never forget his life was not in vain Bear
I leave most punctuation to the reader that they can read the poem in their own meter, mood and motility. I thank you for taking the time to read my work.

What a proud and spiritually sound piece of writing. One of strength and tribute. The way it's written just works with all the pieces fitting nicely. I don't feel sadness from this but I do feel its power. Great work.

Being a rhymer I enjoyed this greatly. Could be applied to those in all walks of life who have waged their own personal battles

I really enjoyed reading this poem bear!
It isn't heavy and too much at all and the emphasis on the warrior is still strong!
The rhyming parts enhanced the poem, engaging the readers even more and gave more info on the warrior.
Keep it up :)

Being part Blackfoot Indian I was taught to view Mother Nature with respect, being a part German, French American I have learned to see both sides of things. But my Indian side I treasure the most :~)
