DISARRAYED PUZZLE

There was a time when my empty heart once overflowed
Before love's cruel lessons turned my insides bitter and cold
When youth and innocence were my personal emotional armor
Unaware my vulnerability to any attractive smooth talking charmer
With reckless abandonment, I freely lead with my feelings
Unprepared for the dangers of seduction predator dealings
My own doubts and guilt's were used to disarm me from the start
So they could chip away and shatter then completely break my heart
Like a disarrayed puzzle, the broken pieces inside me churn away
Eating away all hope of finding love in this vicious game they play
So unto myself, I turned my gaze to run away and hide
But instead found the strength and purpose to serve as a guide
Now each new discovery of who I am a puzzle piece falls into place
So that one day soon of my broken heart there will be no trace
