CALL OF THE WILDA Poem by BearFirst came the whispering voices of the wind blowing in the trees Words just beyond my understanding that dance upon the breeze Their sing-song voices captivated me within its ebb and flow A sensation on which all my senses now focus and grow Guided now my steps take me to answer a distant call To a magical place among the whispering trees, my feet do fall Spiritual this place of nature so attuned to mother earth Radiating the goodness and purity of a child at birth Be it the pulse of the planets throbbing beneath my feet That my own heart does now pound out a matching beat Excitement and joy expand my chest in a tingling sensation With all my senses aflame from this miraculous education To feel the relationship between plant and animal, we are one As well as our kinship with the stars, the moon and the sun To see her cloud bound moods change with the dusk and dawn And then feel her touch as it changes me and then it is gone A communion that has me feeling awestruck as if I were a child But understanding now I to have just heard the call of the wild Bear © 2017 BearAuthor's Note
