It's a Christmas tradition standing here in line So the best Black Friday deals shall be mine I dashing all through the malls parking lot Looking for the closest empty parking slot But searching was in vain the lot was jammed So between two small sports cars I crammed The midnight hour means I have a long wait Because the mall does not open until eight Through the dark, I search for the lines end Twisting and turning I follow along its bend But twilight's glow brings a shopper's worst fear No deals for me this year for I am at the lines rear Bear
I leave most punctuation to the reader that they can read the poem in their own meter, mood and motility. I thank you for taking the time to read my work.

Boy... one would wish they could have the superpower to teleport right about now. Especially for the one at the rears. My Christmas tradition requires me to just sit relax and watch a movie or two? It's the out of work funk I prefer than the workout most go through during this time.
You keep your rhyme scheme prim proper natural and the structure sublime. So well done as always and a belated Christmas to you and your family.

Christmas reminds me of childhood days...gathering and celebrating together with friends...it was nice to revisit my past though your write...
That's a huge queue !
It is quite touching to see people standing in a queue and waiting for their turns. I could also relate to that fear of not getting the thing at the end.
Very well described write, Bear :-)
Your Christmas tradition is a very fine piece and experience !!

Maybe Em should make a writing challenge out of that, it would be interesting how different everyone's are and how they deal with them. Hear that Emily? :~)
We have Black Friday over here now, and it seems the time when our tradition of queuing goes out the window. I've never seen so many people pushing and shoving for a 'bargain' they don't really need.
Just shows you what will happen in the event of a genuine shortage, blood on the streets no doubt. :))
Beccy.

This is very nice. It does sound tiresome waiting in the serpentine line and not getting what is wanted. I loved the way you described shopping before a festival. I loved it....
