A THOUGHT AWAY

No matter how dark times may seem to appear
Or how desperate and tempted I am to fear
My spirit, it shall never be able to breach
Because solace is always within my reach
 
Misery and sorrow I effortlessly cast aside
Giving them no place where they can hide
For I draw strength letting my memory play
Because you are always just a thought away
 
Like pitching a coin into a wishing well
I think of you and feelings of hope swell
I am never alone with you there in my mind
Giving trust, faith and friendship in kind

Thank you, many of my poems were written for a specific picture like this one. I really like interpreting the story behind the picture, the fun thing is that everyone will see something different as it relates to them. Back in the 90's I was part of The poetry circle and we had as many as 50 people write a poem about the same picture, the diversity in the poems was incredible and a blast to read :~)

Wow,that is great..its more like an exercise for your mind and gives poets the opportunity to express using different topics what the image means to them..from what you said,different ideas can spring up from just one image

Yes, it was amazing how different the poems were for the same picture, it gave me insight into the character of each poet by what they felt was am important enough feature to include in their poem.

Oh Bear, you inspired me to do a photo today with my poetry but alas, I was thwarted by the technology gods and thrown into the abyss. Onto your lovely work..i love how you always have an image...it does something to the mind to see while they think about your words. It is almost a process that one goes through.
As for a friendship you spoke of, well, I think I dream of such things. To not fear the slings and arrows of judgment and fear, and sorrow not allowed to caste it's shadow either because you have your protector, not only on the outside...but on the in. To know someone that well is a true gift. I love your words. Beautiful.

Thank you for your kind words, I love to interpret imagery and turn it into poetry. The poetry group I had back in the 90's did a weekly writing challenge on a picture I posted, it was like a class in anthropology with all the different views, it was a lot of fun.
