THE ONLY GIFT

Snowflakes float from heaven in hushed silence so prodigiously
Creating a frigid canvas for youthful snow angel making prodigy
A winter wonderland spectacle the glacial arctic art gallery
Where mounds of pure white were sculpted a frosty menagerie
Wreaths of holly adorn doors and the mistletoe has been hung
And on the wind the sounds of Christmas carols were being sung
A cascading waterfall of light bulbs was draped over every tree
In a rainbow of color blinking in chaotic patterns hypnotically
As street-corner Santa's ring their bells at the people passing by
With the spirit of good will and brotherhood a twinkle in their eye
Sentimental imagery I hope my words will inspire a warm glow
Sadly wishing you a Merry Christmas is the only gift I can bestow
But know my words come from the heart and are said in good cheer
So MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR

Thank you, I think this was the only serious Christmas poem I posted this year, I like to make people smile or laugh so most of what I posted this year were humorous Christmas poems :~)

I love the way you describe this picture, I don't see much writing like this anymore, just sappy stuff because it's the easiest way to portray feelings, it's very beautiful.
