SPORTSA Poem by BearSome see the thrill of victory as life's greatest feet Others as just mans aggressive need to compete With sports a boy may rise from poverty on the street And by the pro-ranks prove the system can be beat To know a moment of fame captured in a touchdown run Or how one feels inside at the sound of a starters gun Then there's your heart pounding in your ears so loud It almost drowns out the roar of the screaming crowd So why don't I do it you ask, why don't I play the game Don't I want the thrill, the rush, the fortune and the fame Yes I do but there are reasons why I can't participate You see my fall from sports was a simple act of fate My father and grandfather both were great with the game I thought it destiny that I to would one day prove my name I dreamed of being a Nike, Adidas or the champ Converse Maybe I would even end up on the feet of a Mr. universe But that was not to be, for life had other plans for me It brought my downfall as a fashionable trend you see Now my arenas are the discos and any club's dance floor Because I am to dam cute for the young ladies to ignore I'm just a fashion statement for any mod pleasure seeker With dreams of one day being a record holding sports sneaker Bear © 2015 BearAuthor's Note
