WRITERS CAFE

A tribute to the Writers Cafe and all it's many members.

I am dancing with words of vivid descriptions

From memories more like mental inscriptions

Sentences appearing like magic before my eyes

Looking much like blood as the ink on paper dries

I traveled back in my mind looking for a possible muse

Searching for future insight and inspiration I might use

I was impressed by the wordsmiths at the Writers Cafe

Reading their many different views and talents at play

Poets like Colton Warr, Chris W. and Sin in Sincerity

For their depth of vision and imaginative writing dexterity

There's Ronnie and Rainslover who are braver than most

For writing in a foreign language they have reason to boast

Also there's Dante and AaronFreitas who write with conviction

Or Robert and ShadowWhysper where poetry is an addiction

Youngkingkwan who sees things in a different and creative way

And Emily's insight built the home where their post are on display

There are thousands of poems and poets I could read and review

Millions of lines I could remember, recite and learn from them too

In this virtual literary library of this human condition that we call life

Preserved word by word by those living through the pain and strife

I have found my muse, my inspiration, my reason to keep writing

It is this community at the Writers Cafe I have found so inviting

I'm glad I was finally able to read this as I was offline this weekend due to a wedding. This was great, loved it! and creative to put the names from WC in the poem. I appreciate you placing my name in it, thank you very much. I never thought I had an addiction with anything, but you discovered one, well done.

Anyone who reads your poetry can see the dedication and drive your poetry has, the love of words and the meaning and understanding you can bring from so few words. That kind of attention giving to anything sounds like it is something you are addicted to :~)

Hey I tried writing poetry in French and could never get it right so no one saw my work so I know how brave you are :~)

I'm not sure if I still have them, I will look through my files but it was almost 40 years ago when I wrote them.

From the poetry I have read of yours you represent a large part of the cafe members who find a freedom in the words you write so who better than you?

The 101 has become like a home so writing a poem about the Writers Cafe without mentioning you would have been a insult to all the 101 members :~)
It is not about contest or spotlighting my poetry, this poem is my way of saying thank you to all the poets for the poetry utopia they have all created.

~ I've used the title many times and made the number one spot because of it. There are many more writers you have not mentioned, but then again, there wouldn't be enough room. I hope you make number one soon. Good writing. ~

I am not really interested in ratings or contest, poetry is my escape and the Writers Cafe has become like a home and I wanted to show my gratitude. Yes there are a lot of great poets here and the first 11 people who said I could use their name I put in the poem. If I do another one next year I may put 22 names in which would be fun to work into a rhyme, now you have me thinking about the next one already, see why I like this place :~)
