THE APPLE TREE by MITCH ZORICH

In the shade of wisdom's tree sat I and she
To the world anew were all things that be
She called me Adam and I called her Eve
How was I to know of me she would deceive
Sweet was the fruit from the forbidden tree
But bitter was the effect that it had on me
Now I know I stand naked before the world
And the nature of its impact is now unfurled
For it was then he made his presence known
Now that the seeds of wisdom have been sown
From the sky he looked down on our naked skin
And knew we had committed an unforgivable sin
Somber his face as out from Eden we were cast
While painful was my sight of Eden at the last
By the tree bathed in light, Eve in naked splendor
And the sky bound face of my God forever to remember

Ok what happens when you click on a poem and you end up reading two? The Answer: Really awesome times with rhymes. First: Your poem is smooth, crisp and well written. For me this was even more enjoyable, because I do a lot of research on Myths and Legends. Your poem spoke eloquently of the temptation Eve gave into and how it hurt Adam and how they were banished. ^^
Second: Shadow Whysper's poem is great as well. A more reasoning tone could be felt when I read her poetry. ^^ It was an awesome read and both of you are amazing when it comes to rhymes and it complexity. ^^ Thank you for sharing (And boy do i love to snoop around) ^^

I remember this picture! I even have the poem I wrote for it as well...

The Price We Pay

A woman covers her face in shame
Yet she cannot be held to blame
For in her innocence she did not know
Just how fast the seed would grow
A taste of knowledge, innocence lost
Being human has a cost

Now for knowledge, there is a thirst
Some may think that we’ve been cursed
Though knowledge is demanding
With it comes understanding
And in that understanding lies
A sight that goes beyond the eyes
For it is felt deep within
Empathy is not a sin

The price we pay for innocence lost
Is it not worth the cost?
