PURGATORY

PURGATORY

A Poem by Bear

Held aloft by Gods breath and nestled amongst the clouds
A jewel unsurpassed yet hidden behind many mysterious shrouds
Not only does it mark the boundary between heaven and hell
It also host the path upon which now lifeless souls dwell
Housed within its proud walls a mighty beacon does appear
A glorious light, the pure radiance of Gods single tear
A sight so splendid it draws forth even a tortured soul
So they to will be helped in reaching their final goal
On vaporous clouds they ascend from the earthly plain of man
Knowing it's the portal of life's judgement they now stand
Condemned souls grasp for a last look at this great beauty
For the nature of the beast to deprive them is his duty
While the innocent and pure of heart wont even look back
Knowing where they are going there is nothing they will lack

What if I tell you I like your Purgatory better than how Dante portrayed? Could be because this was simpler to understand, could also be because it's again a subject of research for me and thus a peek at this perspective (not that different I know yet more hope lies here than what I felt in Dante's piece) I thoroughly enjoyed the rhyme and the visuals your words conjured in my mind ^^ Thank you for sharing ^^
