Into Deeper Thought

Into Deeper Thought

A Poem by Dalton Wagoner

Into deeper thought
I become one with my mind
As I fade away from reality
My thoughts all riot around me
Tossing me, bruising me
I try to find my haven
But there is no haven
The ghosts of my past are loiterous and amble
While the silhouettes of my future are wicked and plentiful
My fantasies come to remind me of my yearnings
And how they are nothing more than a mirage
And as Depression creeps up on me
It cloaks me in negative emotions
The weight of the cloak is heavy
Almost too heavy to remove
Just when I feel hopelessly trapped
A passersby liberates me from my twisted imagination
Though my thoughts are torturous beings
Their abode has become mine also
But I just can't help it
Going into deeper thought

I found this poem had an almost musical quality to it and you made me imagine little demons dancing around inside your mind. Then the weight of the cloak added another dark tone. You seem very accepting of the abode. I suggest adding fresh flowers to the 'abode' ;) amazing what fresh flowers can do. Great flowing poem. :) Stay inspired!
