HeavenA Poem by Dalton Wagoner
Winged seraphs taking flight
There is no such thing as night You see loved ones all around Animals and plants abound Gospel hymns replete your ears There are only happy tears Elderly without their canes People healed of all their pains A great mansion you behold Noticing it's made of gold The grand city standing tall Bordered by encrusted walls Streets are also golden, too A large, never-ending view Crystal seas are very vast Pearly Gates you see at last You approach the Mercy Seat God and Jesus you now meet Jesus sits you on his lap And he says, "I've missed you, chap." Then the Book of Life you read Studying the holy screed You have kicked Satan's behind And you have become refined Now with happiness quite rife Go enjoy eternal life
