The Cross

The Cross

A Poem by Anonymous

Here hung Jesus, the king of the Jews,
who lives in our hearts, sits in the church's pews.
He has done miracles, made the blind see.
He rose from the dead, to set us free.

He was led to the cross, beaten without mercy.
It had taken a long time; He was at the end of His journey.
As He hung on the cross, with people mocking Him,
He yelled "Father, forgive them. For they know not their sin!"

But on the third day, he rose from the tomb.
He went to the people, and told them the truth.
"I will come back for you, all who believe.
To take you to heaven, to live with me."

I think I've said it all on fb haha but I'll say it again. It's a beautiful Easter poem, with a perfect rhyme scheme!

Ah, but I read The Bible, and He is.

I have friends who are Jewish, and do not believe in Jesus as the fulfilment of the Torah's promise of a messiah.

Therefore I do not think it is true that Jesus was 'King of the Jews'.
