I Had A ThoughtA Poem by StephanieA Poem recognizing that each person on this earth, at some time in their life, must choose what kind of person they are.I
HAD A THOUGHT Today
I sat and had a thought About
the things that I’ve been taught The
good, the bad, the truth, the lies The
price we pay is to fail or fly We
are taught from birth to death Right
and wrong and with each breath We
jump right in and learn much more That
someday opens many doors The
doors that teach us passing through How
to be me and you To
learn that good is born from bad If
we remember lessons had So,
thank you, Mom, for giving me Those
doses of reality The
wrongs you taught and the rights I
think about them, day and night Along
this road of life, we tumble Through
ups and downs, we do stumble As
we learn every day What
to think and do and say From
good and bad we learn each day If
we choose to learn that way To
be the best that we can be A
greater right for you and me From
finding out that wrong can be As
great a teacher as right, you see Open
your mind and open your heart It’s
your choice as to where you start So,
embrace the wrongs done to you And
thank those who did, and do The
things to you that make you, you And
helped you choose to be better too From
birth to death in the blink of an eye We
learned to laugh, and we learned to cry All
the memories given me Created
my reality And
I became who I am I
choose to be better than The
things that caused me all that pain And
today I’m happy, once again © 2020 StephanieAuthor's Note
