Swim

A Poem by Kenneth Richardson
"

Was hit with inspiration and decided to write. Let me know what you think.

"
I'm floating through the age of indifference looking for something to cherish.
Have we lost our feeling?
I could lie in an ocean of sadness and never shed a tear.
We pretend to live because it's easier than accepting we've never been alive.

I'm wading through the age of convenience looking for something to strive for.
Do we have a purpose?
I could sleep through entire wars and never even flinch.
We keep our eyes shut to conflict because we don't think we can fight.

I'm treading through the age of doubt looking for something to believe in.
Is there a god?
I could pray a million prayers and never think they'd come true.
We give up our faith because we need something practical.

I'm drowning in the age of reality,
So why isn't anything real?
