Like a mirror reflected

My world is in tumult

As I see for the first time

Who I really am

Each scar and blemish

Screams for attention
In the light of the day

Things that were once hidden

Now clearly are seen

I used to see the beauty in me

And ignore all the grime

That surrounded my soul

Packed with old stains

that should have been removed long ago.

I am tired by the work that is before me

Spring cleaning this late in the year

Is a bad practice
But it’s better than leaving the dirt

And living in squalor
