A Poem by Baz
"

What should I write about..?

"

I want to write a poem,
For a special little man.
But I just can't get it started,
Wil‎l you help me if you can?

Should I write of racing cars?
Or small green men that come from Mars?
Or cowboys chewing fat cigars?
Or rockets that go round the stars?

Should I write of red balloons?
Or watching all the best cartoons?
Or rolling down the sandy dunes,
On endless summer afternoons?

Should I write of ice-cream cones?
The funny sound of bass trombones?
Or skeletons with snow-white bones?
Or lazy days and skipping stones?

Should I write of pirate ships?
Or action men with kung-fu grips?
Or eating lots of fish and chips?
Or kissing girls upon the lips? (yuuuukkkk!!!)

Or should I write of all the fun
You give to me, my special one?
Because, when all is said and done,
I'm just so thankful you're my son.

There's not many poems I can call adorable but I think this is definitely one that fits! The whole thing is cute as anything, the last line made me smile even more!

For the love of a child and the love of poetry. You just have to enjoy reading these poems written about the little ones. This poem is well done among the genre, putting all the son's interests in the form of questions and winding up so nicely.

I like this one very much! The lines flow very smoothly together---you definitely have a way with words. I like the wide variety of topics you cover in trying to find a subjet to write about.

Haha *claps hands* a cute, inspiring method to get over writersblock, which is a very bad bad disease...I enjoyed this poem with its light-hearted rhymes. Thank you. :3
