Walking in SnowA Poem by BazOne winter about 8 years ago we had a major snowfall. There was no travel and everyone stayed indoors for several days. I went for a walk and my experience inspired this poem.
i wrap up warm against the snow
the frozen air, the chilling blow and where it is i am to go there's none, not even i, who know i like to wander as i please on powdered earth past frosty trees through bitter wind and icy breeze it seems to put my mind at ease for as i walk on virgin ground i see no sights, i hear no sound no man nor beast can here be found for I'm the only one around as winter beats upon my face and wraps me in her cold embrace i lose my sense of time and space and feel alone within this place and standing on this floating ball i ponder mother nature's call and sense the wonder of it all the world is big and i am small © 2024 Baz |
