The Truth of Rangi

The Truth of Rangi

A Poem by Lauren_The_Awesome

They treat me as if I can't hear
I choose not to use my voice
But my feelings are still here
Stupid people with their opinions
Treating me as if I'm a little boy
"Oh honey this, oh honey that"
Give it a rest society
I know my life has been s****y
My life has been a long painful trip
Through the rocky road of despair
To the laugh stock of the drama tribe
I was abandoned
With no reason why
But I don't need your damn pity
And that's the truth
You heard my pet bear was murdered
The day Digger came
That was the day I became fully betrayed
She was my only inspiration to speak
She gave me hope
And love that no one gave me
But she is gone
Gone with the angels
That I pray to day by day
She was beautiful I tell you
Having a cinnamon color coat with a cuff of pure white around her neck
She was a magnificent creature
I told her all my troubles
My feelings that were grief stricken
But she was taken from me
So quickly without a good bye
My heart is full of grievances
That can't been told
Since none would fully understand
People don't understand me
People can't understand me
People don't want to understand me
With their lies tasting like sticky sap
Being smeared into their heads to stick
Making themselves feel good even though they don't care
"Let's talk to the depressed kid"
"Let's see what he does"
I know the truth of you all
The truth you don't want told
The truth that you mask
You cover yourselves with "tradition"
However you don't know what it means
Historical background you don't even have a clue on
Don't pity the mute one
The mute one pities you

A powerful and worthwhile tale my friend.
"Don't pity the mute one
The mute one pities you"
The above lines are a strong ending. I like the description and the thoughts of the character in the poem. Silence can mean many things. Thank you Lauren for sharing the amazing poetry.

It's quite good despite the fact that I have no clue who the hell "Rangi" is...

Some of the lines were a bit long, but they are effective nonetheless.

Overall, a good job, Miss Awesome! :P

Aw, thank you :)
This is very emotional. As a reader, you could quite literally feel it flowing from the words. Whomever this character was, I'm sure you portrayed them well. Nice work, Lauren. :)

Thank you. Much is appreciated :)
the pain and angst that the character feels is quite evident. Also ,the stereotypical nature of the society is very well written. We are all surrounded by people who are judgemental and at times stubborn

"Don't pity the mute one
the mute one pities you"
I loved these lines. They speak a lot. Wonderfully written...
