Love? Lies!

The heartbreak is back
Coming back to torture me
To ruin my life
To ruin plans
To reassure that I did mess up somewhere
To tell me that love is just a fairy tale
Love can't just happen so quickly and then go
Love gives you something to hold onto
But there's a consequence
A consequence that will haunt you in the remains of the 'love'
The word that he tells you everyday
And says he means it
And I try to reciprocate as much as I can
But my attempts failed
I thought he was the one
As I did many others
But I felt something with him
I told him all my secrets
Everything
I poured my heart out
To just find out it was all a lie
A big fat lie
A lie that made me die inside
To find out all the time we spent
Was for nothing
I guess love is just for fairy tales
Since love never stays for long

Heart breaks just make a puzzle even bigger, they scatter the pieces that were many into more. Pick em up, throw them around, shake them, toss em in the sky, feeling more than alive... then... piece them back together, carefully, but always remember, to finish.

I love the emotion running throughout the poem. It's sad to learn that one's love is a lie but life. But life goes on and even though life may not be a fairy tale it will be a great adventure.

nice imagery of love as "a lie". sometimes, love really looks like a pie of lie, so illusive, hypnotic, & more like a bizzare to our lives. neither it stays for long nor let anyone be so same in life. very deep imagery here.

yes, there's always consequences of love... and such consequences oft. arrive when we''re being mistaken off our own path, & do everything "Wrong" thing in love that makes us stand tall. urgh... stupid love. well penned!

Love works that way. It'll be what rises the sun for us in the morning; it'll be the sickness we can't shake when it all goes wrong. You put the feeling of not being able to shake that latter feeling really well here. I enjoyed this one, hon.
