I'm a big fan of traditional Chinese lit. and philosophy, so I had to check out this poem and I think it's something that Lao-tzu would approve of lol. Reading this poem, like reading the Tao te Ching, forces the reader to grasp the essence of what the Tao is by presenting them with contradictions and mysterious phrasing. At first, it can be a bit of an evasive concept, and this poem is evasive too. I love how you proceed from the broadest elements of human existence (want and need) and get down to the candle, before removing it and the flame too...it all feels so wise.
The first book I remember reading was R.A.Salvatores "The Crystal Shard" after reading that i began my quest to write something that would give a new generation of readers the same experience as i got.. more..
