Sinking

Sinking

A Poem by Jared
"

First poem that I feel is even almost good, enjoy the five-legged squid.

"

Slipping through life with nary a ripple

Gliding unnoticed in humanity’s sea

Sinking into its insubstantial depths

Groping for purpose like a pentapedic squid

But finding no lights

Save those simulated

Which misguides

And provides no sustenance

Nor fulfillment

Yet oblivious

Plows on forward

Not really living, till at the jaws of Death

Realizing at the last moment the peril

And dives away from that fateful maw

Deeper into the phantom depths

And is forgotten and forgets

That brief moment of Clarity

And wonders lost in the night

Till it rots on its own

Trapped

Isolated

and Empty

It's good and a great use of metaphors and imagery. It's deep and personal and beautiful. Keep it up.
