An Executioners Memoir

An Executioners Memoir

A Story by Ophielia Nyx

He comes forward into my realm

His eyes full of fear

And no time to lose

He asks with his eyes

And again I refuse

His last hope dead

He slumps to the block

Unaware that i hate this

Every last chop

He knows not that i dream about it

Wake in the night

To the hell ive created

My only fright

To live in this world it is kill or be killed

And so to keep myself

My love, my daughters alive

This heavy pain i shoulder

Is it worth living to die?

Like this man quick?

Or slow like me?

Damnit. Despite my best efforts, I really liked this one. Though, if you write about death, that's like 10 free points from me. Anyway, it's a very under-represented occupation, being an executioner, and I wonder where you got inspiration for this, but it's well thought out, and I am really getting to like your endings. That's often the hardest part to write, and you're quite good.

Oh, just to nit pick, try and make sure you capitalize your Is. Unless you're in a particular genre of erotica *cough* they should always be capital.
