Spring here!

Spring here!

A Poem by Barnstein

The tree buds once tight
Unfurl their leaves
Fresh in the rising sunshine
Plants lain dormant
Explode with colour
The perfumed smells linger
The ground once hard from frost
Softens like a carpet underfoot
Birds herald the new season
Dawn chorus welcomes
The days lengthen
The warm months approach
As the world awakens

Winter's wrath is about to consume most of my country. If spring is the awakening, then winter is the time of hibernation. When days lose some of their sunlight, and all of life becomes stilled and gray. I've always been partial to winter, but the warmer months really do rejuvenate the soul. Thank you for a most poetic read!
