Being called a pseudo intellectualA Chapter by Bardy
Series: Response to statement said to me
Date: January 23, 2020 Created by: Me "You should drop the pseudo intellectual act. You're trying too hard and it doesn't look good on you." I'm supposedly some pseudo intellectual? Fair enough. You can believe that all you want. As that stands to be merely your opinion. Logically, that is to be expected from your previous negative thoughts and assertions directed at me. Unlike you and anyone else who possibly thinks I am, I'm not insecure about the knowledge I do have. Same can be said about the knowledge I don't have either. I have been open and honest with people in regards to my ignorance towards a subject I am not fimiliar with or an experience not known to me when talking to them. Especially when they do have first hand experience or knowledge about said subject themselves. I say this because it's my way of letting them know and setting the stage to speak up. There's always something to learn. I wouldn't want to know everything either. Life would be boring. It's also to force myself to keep learning and evolving. As there's joy in learning. Let's take it a step further. You think I'm that while others have claimed I have wisdom and an intellectual. Now, who is right? You? Them? No one? This is how I see it: Same as it is with you. It's their opinion. While I am flattered people believe that I am an intellectual, I try and stay humble by telling them that what I know isn't anything special. Anyone can learn what I know if they wanted it bad enough and applied themselves. This is to give them some confidence. Yes, I have been through some s**t in my life but who hasn't though? Adversity is a great teacher. Same can be said about failure. It's a great learning experience if you allow it to be. I never wanted to know what my IQ was, for example. Didn't want to be subjected to a mere number. A number that wouldn't truly define me or what I really knew. I want to keep earning that right talking to people. Having a high IQ doesn't mean that you are about to effectively communicate to people either. You can be the smartest person in the room. That's all fine but won't mean anything if you can't get your point across in a way where people understand you or what you're talking about. © 2020 Bardy |
