Banishment

Banishment

A Poem by Barbara Borel

My hands are tied about and to be cut off. I won't feel you anymore. Your skin, your lips, will be a memory of the past.

My eyes must look away now... at your beauty your strength your fight. You made me look away so that you may live another day.

So again my soul travels to far away places. Egypt, France, Mars. Not in search for another... not to find love. But, as punishment for my crimes of looking for you. As banishment for finding you and imprisonment for loving you.
