Boy to a Man

Boy to a Man

A Poem by Barbara Borel

Underneath that thin skin is a small child waiting to be let in. You left him there in the cold... hungry and thin.

He is a child you made yet you mock him so. What kind of animal of humanity can stoop so low.

Your lies your shame your own self-worth, do not put them on this child who walks this Earth.

So take your hate and your judgment too. Look in the mirror that's what you do.

For you or that little boy now grown to a man. Just be a better human than they, for as long as you can
