TRACKS OF DERAILMENT

TRACKS OF DERAILMENT

A Poem by Jason Baptiste

Umbrellaed by skies of destruction
Without borders or boundaries
Captured by hands of torture
Behind the bars of solitary confinement

Struggles of liberation
Against liberty enemies
Receiving bullets, shells of motars
Bodies bearing scars of embattled content

Screams of horrific pains endured
Mass graves filled cemeteries
Elusive victories of wars
Soldiered continued commitment

Peace thoroughly abandoned
Cities red bloodied
Broken down rejected doors
Consuming the continent

Multitudes of refugees civilians
Lands habitats emptied
Propagated cause
The train of unity derailment
