Drunkard

Drunkard

A Poem by Jason Baptiste

Anew friend was found
Who tumbles you to the ground
On the highway of destruction
Driven by depression

Destined for trouble
This ginnie in a bottle
Gives intoxication
Drifting journeys without direction

Addicted to its charm
The bottle choked between the arm
With its unpleasant odor
You'll not be sober

Thinking its cool
You're seen as a fool
In places where your comrades
Are all drunkards

Shaking with shiver
Damaging your liver
Loosing control
Killing your soul

Drinking till you drop
Only you can stop
When the rum is over
You'll wish to be sober
