Judgement Day

Judgement Day

A Poem by BansheeGirl

Who is better, really? He or she? You or I?
The girl that has never experienced fear, or hate
Or the boy deciding which wallet to take
The man who splurges on women and wine, or the one who sees no indifference to crime The girl who sells the only thing she has Or the man paying for her 14 year old a*s Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Lust , Envy....Wrath and Greed
It Awes me to think we have planted a seed
Where sin is accepted.....turn on your tv
Desensitization grows rapidly within you and me
We no longer know wrong from right, evil from pure
Cancer is evil, but they`ve found a cure
Do you expect things to change? Honestly open your eyes
LOSE YOUR DENIAL, HEAR THE WORLD`S CRIES....

I love the voice in this. It seems to be one raised in pain and anger at one and the same time. You have set out in this hard hitting expose, a pen portrait of how as a society we have become desensitised to things that would have been seen as taboo decades ago. The reach of the internet and the ready availability of information and images has caused this. The demand for imediate gratification and the fact the corporations and money grabbers depend on feeding us in order to strip out revenue from advertising even more stuff to us. Will it end? Good question.

It's wonderful poem. It's a big question about equality of a MAN and WOMAN.
