Checkmate

Checkmate

A Poem by Bane

I can’t believe what you did

The things you said

Reciting to me

Like I’m a friend

Tell me about your indiscretions

Tell me about your bad decisions

Sure, I’ll sit and hear it all

Watching as the pieces fall

Remove myself from this equation

Mandatory evacuation

I always fight

But now I can’t

Uncertain of where I stand

A jaded fool

A long lost friend

A useless tool

Of carnal sin

What should all of this mean to me

Nothing

Something

Everything

A helpless pawn

In an unjust game

There is no winning

There is no gain

Never let Life get the upperhand. Protect your king and be the one to yell,"Checkmate!" Also, on line 5, you put "you" and not "your".
