A Bloody Tea Party

A Bloody Tea Party

A Poem by Bandersnach
"

For those of you who are familiar with the "Jabberwocky" poem from "Alice in Wonderland"

"

Rocking back and forth

(I hide)

crouched under the table

to escape it's eye.

Blood everywhere

the Mad Hatter's dead.

his terrified screams

still ring in my head!

    Thump, Thump

"Does it know I'm here?"

I cover my mouth

I  fight back the tears.

But my heart is still pounding

I can't silence it's fear!

"Just shut your eyes tight!

that's the best thing to do!

You can't see him..

He can't see you!"

Few moments pass

" Has it left? Am I saved?

I dare not move..

but just a peek I will brave.

I open just an eye

 to see if it's safe..

but a grimacing monster

....is an inch from my face!

"You foolish girl!

can you not see?

I'm the Frumious Banderstanch!

You can't escape me!

I will scratch out your eyes

I will bite off your head!

I will drink all your blood,

Yes, soon you'll be dead!"

The Jaberwocky

The Jub Jub bird

"Beware these fearsome creatures!" we've heard.

But never shun a Banderstanch,

take my advice!

Beware him as well,

Or you'll pay with your life!

About
Not much to say about me except that writing is the only thing that I'm half-capable of doing. I realized this when a college professor exclaimed that "you are an excellent rhetoric!" and, of course, .. more..
