A Poem by Snookered
"

Just getting bak into the habit of writing regularly

"

How many spiders would it take

to tether down a weather balloon?
How many weather balloons would it take
to uproot a redwood tree?
And how many
just how many redwood trees would it take
to return the earth to what it once was
all those millennia ago?
When did concrete slabs and smoke stacks replace the
elegance of vines crawling across the forest floor?
When did the intricate lace of a spider’s web become
distasteful in the homes of others?
When did humans stop looking at the moon and
focus on weather balloons drifting in the sky
to alert them of fair skies and warm but
pleasant afternoons?

A well-written, questioning piece. I find it comforting that someone besides me recognizes the fact that Earth was a whole different world all those years ago.
