Dear Poet MeA Poem by Balkaran SidhuDear poet, within me Do not lose tomorrow’s eyes Don’t churn too much beneath Your stranger skies, tides of love and loss Re-rise to explore the crystal colored honesty in you You who was carved out of the sun made out of the water tipped stones With slack markings for your typhlotic guests Let them come and let them go Dear poet me, Do not look for beauty In every chunk of time linear, like a flat circle Don’t harvest beauty behemothic That this world looks grisly Don’t mine secrets so abstract That shift as bright as a light-bolt The crest calls for you The epilogue remains hidden in your Heart You have been hiding for long now In your timid memory of love The one whom I can only know In your writing, whose volume is limitless Ancient with yearning, dear poet Priest of the ocular Word Unfolding floating islands of light Don’t weep with the calligraphy Of the daunting night. Welcome the present with a Farewell A farewell too heavy to catalog Sip the past for new amazement That must borne out of other minds Dear poet me, your heart is the bridge that links the ever churning heartbeat of a true lover, like your Incandescent subtlety of naked whispers That renew our intricate psyche.
