A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

Nothing can fulfill my womb for

the overgrown yearning of

Jewels of our deepest breaths

Heart-beats of our luring love

The ruby warmth of summer suns

and the rays of gold

that shines alive in my belly of thoughts

Before your voice,my soul

Before the gradual flooding of night

At the throne of a lifetime, of stars

Beyond the immaculate

Curving of time, I won't endure

Destined to be haunted, mortal

Disappearing into cool treasures of silence

I still tremble now with loss

With this year's impeccable wounds

With this day's perfect agony

Without a living dream or a burning hope

Without any self-forgiveness to glow,

why have I punished myself so fiercely,

for being abandoned?
