A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

I lost myself completely, more than I knew myself.
I tried to find my soul in the
Thoughts of each new day, each new hope.

I tried to make bonds with lost kingdoms
to rise in synchronism with every day
with each new experience.

The Spark that sometimes brightens the sky
The whispers that fill the spirit with
jubilation of little more life

These forms of pleasure that no longer
convince me that I am young
No longer make me feel alive.

It is as though I never existed
I never tasted the primal gladness
Of existence, I can no longer feel the familiar passions
Of what it was, that will never be again.
