The Parallel Eternity of my Love

The Parallel Eternity of my Love

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

There hasn't been a greater gift
Then the rich odor of your thoughts
that I live with.

I miss you this much yet
How is it possible to think of you and not smile
When there lives such sweet and bitter
memories between us.

But why do I have to live
like I have someone to return to
I know how scary the void in my cave awaits
To torture me with why I can’t feel you in my life.

I must be an idiot to be in love with you,
some human form of god
I am miserable and I pray
As you enslave me with the suspense in your silence
with something what god has responded to me always.

I close my eyes so that I can see you clearly
Oh the little life in you that I stretch my hand to
Yet it is the same that yearns from which it is owned
The world you barely want to open yours eyes to.

If it’s not love why do your words enervate me
Whisper to me then how love feels in your heart
Because I feel like a predator in the mercy of a prey
I swear these are the risks of love I was never taught.

Take a close look at me my almost sweetheart
There’s not much difference between me and you
For I’m just like you chasing fading dreams
Looking for a single whisper to prove you’re not alone.

Look at me my lost mistress
my heart beats in the rhythm of your name
It is a dejected piano, dragged into slow silence

Would you just let me
unplug my heart and hand it to you
So you can be visible and face my mortality with me.

Bal ... I think you got that reversed about mortality ... it appears to me you ... your words ... thoughts ... sensations and impulses are the immortal aspect. The other may be just simply human ... on account of that it is impossible for the two to mix. Nice write.
